We love a good old cinema trip here at TAL and we’re big fans of The Luna Cinema. So, when they released their summer schedule of films this year, I was one of the first to sign up. There were a ton of options to choose from; Romeo and Juliet set against the backdrop of Chiswick House and Gardens to The Dark Knight dramatically set overlooking the Houses of Parliament. However, when I noticed the Greenwich Park option that sealed the deal immediately. Having been at university there for 3 years it’s absolutely top 3 when it comes to favourite London places.
The film of choice was Back to the Future (no:2 of course) and it was, as always, great. The lovely thing about The Luna Cinema is the laid back atmosphere. Of course there’s alcohol and burger stands if you fancy a treat or two but film-goers are encouraged to bring their own food if they like and even alcohol. (Cider, yum). Which means there’s no pressure to make additional purchases – unless of course you want to. The price is also pretty good – £15.00 a ticket, which is only about £5 more than going to the Odeon. And – you’re outside!
Anyway, back to Greenwich. The film was set at the very top of the park with the most amazing view over London (best there is some would day ie. me).
The Luna Cinema was such a great experience and set in such an iconic location. 10/10. There’s still over a month of films to choose from but tickets are limited – time to get booking.
